Gunster is pleased to once again sponsor and help coordinate the AWRA Florida Annual Meeting 2026. This event will take place August 6-7 and will be chaired by Gunster’s Luna Phillips, who leads the firm's Environmental & Land Use Law.
Established in 1964, the AWRA is the preeminent multidisciplinary association for information exchange, professional development and education about water resources and related issues.
This year’s meeting will once again provide a forum to advance ARWA’S mission by bringing together professionals, industry leaders, experts, and regulators to exchange ideas, discuss industry developments, and address critical water challenges. Additionally, the meeting will feature key leaders from environmental agencies, including all five executive directors from the WMDs and four leaders from the Army Corps of Engineers.
Luna Phillips practices in the areas of environmental, administrative, and governmental law and leads the firm’s environmental practice. Prior to joining Gunster, Luna served as a senior attorney for both the South Florida Water Management District and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Luna practices exclusively in the area of water and natural resources law before state and federal agencies.
Luna’s extensive regulatory experience coupled with her leadership within AWRA, where she formerly served as president, has positioned her to effectively lead the firm’s environmental practice. Her ability to excel in balancing environmental stewardship and business objectives has strengthened the firm’s practice, and has enabled her to assist large scale developers, agricultural entities, public and private companies, as well as individuals in a wide range of water-related issues.
