Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that it has again been selected by Florida Trend magazine as one of the 100 “Best Companies to Work For” in Florida. This latest recognition marks the firm's ninth straight appearance on the prestigious roster. The firm earned a new distinction as one of the top five largest companies, while once again being the top-ranked Florida-based law firm on the list.
The annual program—administered by Florida Trend in partnership with Workforce Research Group and endorsed by the HR Florida State Council—evaluates employers through a two-part process. First, an independent review of each participant’s culture, benefits, policies, and demographics is conducted. The second component is a confidential employee survey designed to measure engagement, satisfaction, and alignment with organizational values. Composite scores determine the final rankings across small, medium, and large employer categories.
Gunster’s CEO and Managing Shareholder, Bill Perry, credited the achievement to the team’s shared commitment to excellence. “Our firm’s success has always been rooted in our people,” he said. “Earning this distinction for nine consecutive years underscores the care we devote to creating an environment where professionals can thrive, collaborate, and build rewarding careers while delivering superior service to our clients.”
In the survey, one respondent stated, "Gunster goes above and beyond to do little things to make its employees feel valued and special and part of a team. In my experience, Gunster attorneys are vocal with their praise of good work and that is appreciated." Another stated, "The organization is by far the most collaborative I've ever experienced; people are treated with respect; and we believe that leadership has our backs and our best interests in mind at all times." A third respondent shared, "The people at the firm genuinely care about each other and are invested in each other's personal and professional successes. People show up for each other to celebrate each other's successes and support each other during hard times. It's a culture of excellence and care for the team."
With more than a century of service to Florida’s business community, Gunster has grown to 13 offices and more than 320 attorneys. Throughout that expansion, the firm has maintained a culture that prioritizes professional development, inclusion, and work–life balance. Initiatives such as flexible career paths, firm-wide mentorship, and robust wellness programming continue to attract top talent and foster long-term retention.
“Our people-first philosophy remains a guiding principle,” Perry added. “That approach not only fuels our internal success, it strengthens the relationships we build with the businesses, institutions, and communities we serve statewide.”
