Christine Sweet

Overview

Christine is a litigation attorney in Gunster’s Jacksonville office. Her practice focuses on professional fiduciary risk management, complex trust and probate litigation, and trust and estate administration.

Christine represents corporate and individual fiduciaries and beneficiaries in all phases of high-stakes trust and estate disputes, including will and trust contests, trust construction and modification proceedings, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and accounting actions.

A significant portion of Christine’s practice involves providing fiduciary risk management advice to professional and individual fiduciaries on a range of matters with the goal of proactively minimizing risk and avoiding litigation.

Christine earned her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she received a book award in Trial Practice. During law school, she was a member of the Journal of Law and Public Policy and served as a teaching assistant for the Legal Research and Writing and Appellate Advocacy courses.

Prior to entering private practice, Christine served as an assistant state attorney and, most recently, in the Special Assault Division. Before law school, she was a teacher focused on students with special needs.

Christine was accepted into Class VII of the Florida Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). She is a member of the Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and the Estate Planning Council of Northeast Florida. Christine also gives back to the community as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Daniel organization, Florida’s oldest child-service non-profit.

In her free time, Christine enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
