Colin Pember

Overview

Colin’s legal practice focuses on areas of real estate, land use, development, and zoning matters. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida.

Prior to entering private practice, Colin served as Division Director of Land Acquisition for Pulte Group. In this role, he was responsible for acquiring and entitling land for residential development, as well as negotiating complex purchase and sale agreements with landowners. During his time at Pulte, Colin was involved in contracting for thousands of acres of land with a total land cost of $1.3 billion to develop over 20,000 residential lots.

As Chairman of the Sarasota County Planning Commission, Colin interpreted and advised the Sarasota County Commission on the adoption of and amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, and land use applications, pursuant to state statutes or existing County ordinances.

Colin also worked in commercial real estate with Michael Saunders & Company Commercial in Sarasota. He marketed and sold land listings, represented local, national, and international builders and developers, conducted preliminary due diligence for land development, and collaborated with government planning staff.

 During his free time, Colin enjoys the outdoors–including fishing, diving, and hunting.
