Boyett, Sara Hastings and Isabella Sirmon. The new attorneys bring significant experience in tax, private wealth, and immigration law, further strengthening Gunster’s capabilities in these key practice areas in South Florida.
Stephen McCloskey joins the firm's Private Wealth Services practice in the Miami office. His practice centers on assisting high-net-worth individuals, companies, family offices, fiduciaries, and investors with complex cross-border tax issues, including structuring foreign investment into the United States, preimmigration planning, and succession planning for multinational families. With experience in both Big Four accounting and boutique law firms, Stephen brings a multidisciplinary perspective to his clients’ most challenging tax matters.
Stephen holds an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center and a J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Luke T. Boyett joins Gunster’s Private Wealth Services group as an associate in its Coral Gables office. His background in both finance and tax informs his approach to developing customized, tax-efficient estate plans tailored to each client’s unique goals. Born and raised in Miami, Luke is committed to helping clients preserve wealth and thoughtfully structure their legacies.
Luke earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida, and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
Sara Hastings joins Gunster’s Immigration practice group as an associate in Miami. Sara’s practice focuses on employment, business, investment, and talent-based immigration matters, representing multinational organizations, investors, and professionals in a wide range of nonimmigrant and immigrant processes. She also has extensive experience in family-based and humanitarian immigration matters, and is dedicated to providing exceptional legal guidance and building strong, trusted partnerships with her clients.
Sara earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, and holds both an M.A. and B.A. from Kent State University.
Isabella Sirmon joins Gunster’s Fort Lauderdale office, where she is a member of the firm’s Tax practice group. Her practice focuses on specializing in employee benefits and executive compensation, including qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare, COBRA, fringe benefits, and incentive compensation matters.
Isabella earned her L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law and her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
